In fact, we’re so rooted in the growth and productivity of our driver-family that we ensure that they are home every single weekend. It’s hard to re-set when you’re away from those you love, so our dispatchers prioritize our drivers’ hometime.
We also know that when our drivers’ loved ones need them, our dispatchers must prioritize getting them home. We’ve put the rubber to the road on this driver-first principle: When our drivers have an appointment or a family commitment, our experienced dispatches get them home on time. And we especially prioritize urgent driver needs– we’ve made sure they get home safely and quickly to care for their family in any situation.
And the way we care for our drivers isn’t just for the short term. We’ve ensured that even when a driver’s personal situation shifts , we are still there for them. For instance, we had one driver’s family dynamic preventing his ability to be out on the road, away from them. Rather than letting him go, we shifted our office dynamic around , creating a different place for him there in our driver-family so that he could continue to work for us and be there for his own family.

Health Initiatives:
Lowering Health Insurance Costs
Prevention is the key to success. At least we know that’s true when it comes to maintaining good health: At Smith we offer lower rates on health insurance for getting an annual physical. We also offer lower rates for smokers who participate in smoking secession plans.
Health Benefit Eligibility:
Benefits are available to full-time employees and become effective on your date of hire.
Also eligible for coverage: Additionally, your legal spouse is eligible for health benefits. However, if your spouse is employed and has coverage available at her/his place of employment, she/he will not be eligible to participate in our medical plan. You must complete the Spousal Insurance Access Verification form if you are electing medical coverage for your spouse. And please note that your children, up to the age of 26 are eligible.

Retirement: 401 K
We’re vested in our drivers’ investments: We know how important it is that our drivers know that there’s a future with us and that we want to play a part in making that future successful. : Full-time regular employees who have completed 30 days of employment are eligible to participate in a retirement savings plan. The 401(k) has a discretionary employer match provision.
Vacation Pay:
Time to recharge is essential. We acknowledge our drivers’ hard work and that they deserve their time to relax away from work. After completion of one year of active permanent employment you will be eligible for forty (40) hours of paid vacation. After completion of two years of active permanent employment with TeamOne you will be eligible for eighty (80) hours of paid vacation. After completion of Ten years of active permanent employment with TeamOne, you will begin to earn one hundred twenty (120) hours of paid vacation each year.
Holidays:
Smith Transfer makes holiday time both a priority for our drivers and makes sure that they receive holiday pay. We take time to celebrate the following National Holidays:

All regular full-time employees with at least 30 days of service are eligible for eight (8) hours
of holiday pay. Temporary employees are not eligible for Holiday Pay.
Safety meeting/bonus program:
We take driver safety seriously and we work hard to reward those that make an effort to be safe out on the road. Attendance is recommended and important for scheduled quarterly safety meetings. If unable to attend a meeting you must get approval from Manager. Safety Bonus is paid quarterly: $15/Week for 13 Weeks = $195 with chance to double by attending safety meeting.
